Ladies  Golf  Tournament  Final

September  18th  2017

Yesterday dawned bright and sunny, and promised a good day for the Tournament Final to be played at the lovely Rushmore Park Golf Club, on the border of Dorset and Wiltshire

The teams from Broadstone and Dudsbury gathered in good time to contest the match, which resulted in a close finish of 4  -  3, with the victory going to Broadstone in the last remaining match on the course. Congratulations to Dudsbury as the gallant runners-up, and well done to everyone involved. All of the players and caddies from each team did so well, producing a match worthy of the final, on a beautifully presented parkland golf course.

Grateful thanks go to everyone at Rushmore Park Golf Club, for their courtesy, their excellent service and staff, and their warm welcome on the day. To their Ladies Captain Jane Homer, with us throughout the day, to ensure we had everything we needed, and to their lady members, ball spotting out on the course. Sincere thanks also go to our loyal and generous Sponsor, Beales plc, for their unfailing support. It was again a great pleasure to welcome Mr. Nigel Beale, who joined us for the match meal, to announce the result and to present the Beales Trophies and prizes, together with gifts to all the ladies present.

Many congratulations to each and every one of the 28 clubs involved in the tournament through this year of 2017, and to their Beales Captains for all their work in bringing it all together to a successful conclusion. The biennial draw for divisional tournament fixtures for 2019 and 2020 was made by Mrs. Jane Homer, the Ladies Captain of Rushmore Golf Club and will be mailed out shortly in the annual pack to each club.

May I thank you all for your continued support and friendship. It is a great pleasure working with you all throughout the year for this tournament which is enjoyed so much by so many and goes forward always in good spirit year by year.

My very best wishes to you and all your lady members, for the coming closed season of Christmas and New Year, and for a successful and happy season of golfing in 2018, which will be the 35th year of our Beales Bronze Ladies Golf Tournament.
