Dorset Ladies County Golf Association
Report from our own On Course Reporter
This is your "On Course Reporter" coming out of retirement to submit this report for the website.
Yesterday saw the re-running of the The Dorset County Junior Girls Birdie Trophy, the previous attempt was cancelled ue to thunder and lightening.
There was a small select few going out to contest the battle but each one had an almost equal chance as their handicaps were very similar.
These are strange times and the girls had a lot to remember, not just to play their best golf on the day, and all that, that entails but all the new rules in place to combat Covid. No mean feat
Annie Hobell (County Treasurer) and myself went out on foot to watch the play on the last 5 holes and we were both impressed to witness some excellent Golf.
Ashley Wood is not the easiest of courses to play and the girls did very well. Good to see that the future of Dorset Girls golf is secure.
The winner of the Birdie Trophy was Natalie Stainer with 28 points, and the Runner Up was Connie Evans with 25 points.
Our grateful Thanks must go to Ashley Wood for their continuing support of Dorset Ladies Golf and we look forward to being on the Course again in a couple of weeks time for
The Ashley Wood and Palmer Trophy.
