Dorset Ladies County Golf Association
COVID-19 (novel Coronavirus) – Cancellation of Competitions
Thursday 19th March 2020
Following on from Government guidelines on non-essential travel and social contact, and in light of England Golf’s latest update, it is with enormous regret that the Executive Committee has decided to cancel all DLCGA competitions until 15th June. This includes First and Second Team matches, coaching, County Meetings, and all Junior and Vets’ events. It will also include any face to face meetings.
It is not a decision that we have come to lightly. Our priority is the health of players, volunteers, organisers, referees and club staff members. The reason that we have chosen the 15th June is because that takes into account the proposed twelve week period in which the Government has advised that ‘at-risk’ groups must be particularly vigilant. We wish our competitions to be fair, equitable and open to all.
The Johnstone Cup
Silver Spring Challenge
Bronze Spring Meeting
We will also be cancelling knockout competitions.
We ask for your understanding during these almost unprecedented times. We are very sorry for any disappointment caused by this. We will be sending out separate instructions regarding refunds for competitions and will process them as soon as possible.
The current government guidelines on Social Distancing can be found below. I have also added a link to England Golf’s latest statement for golfers and a link to the nhs.
We will be monitoring the situation and keep you updated with any information regarding the rest of the season.
Once again, I am extremely sorry and wish you all well.
