Our 2nd SW match this season was away to Wiltshire at the Wiltshire Golf Club.
Well I can only say the rain and wind was more like an April day than a Saturday at the end of July, typical British Summer!
The team donned their waterproofs and off we went, a tight set of foursomes matches as the team accustomised themselves with very thick wet semi, strong winds and lashing rain and we found ourselves 2-1 down at lunch. All to play for in the afternoon.
The team partially dried out and off we went for our singles, again with very close matches, having watched a match won on 18 it was 4 all in the clubhouse with one match still playing. The team played some fantastic golf in very tough condition which we eventually lost 5-4.
However most of the squad this year are new to the team and each other and have demonstrated great team spirit and support throughout the season enabling us to beat Ashleywood men in a friendly. Prevail over Gloucestershire at home and a very close game against Wiltshire away.
I look forward to building further on the teams great efforts next season
